Cuba has been on Lock Down for months yet it continued to appear on the New York jobs tab.
I’m not sure when but very recently it was changed to Brazil.
Thanks to Susan for the e-mail as I would have never noticed.
There are a few ice counting problems in the game due to the new Put ‘Em Ice Event. In addition to the ice popup changing, you may have noticed that the ice post has also changed. Here is an old one.
Spangle Sami posted a batch of new ones on the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page and you can see Zynga had a little problem counting his ices.
Many players are reporting that kills are counting as ices. You ice an opponent when you bring their health below 20, you kill them when you bring it to zero. Kills are logged in the Mobsters Whacked statistic on your profile page. They show up a snuffs in your player updates and you lose 6 experience points if it happens to you.

You can see by the image posted by Jack Sferrazza that he got an ice pop up when he killed somebody. I’m not sure if this happens because you do enough damage to ice and then kill a player with one hit. Maybe the fighters can comment and explain this better than me.
Cerulean Master clears up this question on this forum board discussion (1). We are being rewarded with an extra ice when we get a kill. There is a hint that we will see more of this type of thing in the future.
Yesterday I told you how to check you ice status for the Put ‘Em On Ice Event (1). Today Zynga made the process a lot easier by adding your ice total ices and how many more you need to reach mastery to the Home Page.
Aaron Malfia, one of our admins on the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page, mastered the Put ‘Em On Ice Event on the Diamond Level. After 1,000 ices, the ices needed stat is removed from the popup.
You collect the reward by going to the Home Page and clicking on “Collect”.
You might want to brag about this one because 1,000 ices is no easy feat.
When you check on the Rewards Page, you can see the Talking Stalk is in your inventory and active.
You can replay the event up to 5 times but it will cost you 60 Reward Points a pop.
Now I’m not the best at math, but I ran Show Worst Items by Team Spockholm and calculated that the Tundra Tiger adds +15 to my attack and +63 to my defense and the Talking Stalk adds +86 to my attack and +51 to my defense. 60 Reward Points for a total of +101 to attack and +114 to my defense scores is better than what any Marketplace items could do at the moment but there will certainly be better items available in the future. It still best to spend your Reward Points on Skill Points because skills last forever. We know all too well that loot comes and goes. If they bring back the stat reallocation feature, that’s exactly what you should do.
Yesterday a lot of time was spend discussing the new Marketplace stat feature to reallocate Skill Points (1).
You will now find the option is no longer available in the Marketplace.
They said Limited Time but it’s only been a little over 24 hours. The instructions say we can use it once a day so I don’t think it’s intentionally being pulled. Maybe they are going to nerf it before bringing it back.
A small percentage of players will notice that when they attack somebody there is information about the health status of their opponent. Without knowing exactly how many health points your opponent has, a percentage doesn’t mean a whole lot but it’s better than nothing.
I like this addition because I get so many questions from new players asking why they can’t ice a player. It’s often because they are attacking someone who is already iced. Experienced players know that if you don’t see the “Attack Again” and the “Power Attack” buttons on your fight screen it means the player is already dead. With a tangible statistic also on the screen there shouldn’t be so much confusion.
Obviously if their health is really low, you wouldn’t want to waste any stamina by continuing to attack if you found the player on the fight list. Most likely other players are attacking the same target and the odds of your opponent still having 1% of their health by the time you attack again are slim. Mot likely you will be attacking a dead target. It’s hard to tell by percentage alone as 1% health could mean they are well over 20 health providing they have more than 2,000 health which isn’t that uncommon. The only definitive is 0%. I would pass on attacking this player again and find somebody else.
If you want to red ice somebody (icing a player you lose to with repeated attacks), you can get a better feel for how many attacks it might take. To red ice the player below, I would probably have to attack them many times as I only dealt 2 damage on the initial attack.
In the example below, I found a player who was almost at 98% health. I Power Attacked him and it was fun to watch the stat change. He healed during my attacks but eventually I got the ice. The only improvement Zynga could make would be to tell us how many health points a person has but that wouldn’t be good for players who don’t want their health stat to be public knowledge so we probably won’t see that happen.
Another thing that continues to be a problem is that many players show up as alive on the fight list but by the time you attack them they are already dead. This happens all the time on the Rivals list. I wish they could fix that. Arun can do it with the ice checker, why can’t Zynga?

I have great news to report. There were many comments on my post titled A Great Injustice which demonstrated that there were players out there over level 500 without the 5 Attack and 25 Power Attack buttons in Brazil. Zynga turned on this feature for all players today! Cerulean Master and Rinzler, Super Moderators, were instrumental in making this happen.
I am pleased to announce that the level scaled attack and power attack has been turned on for all Brazil players.
We appreciate your patience throughout the testing process.
